The OrganicPedic® Lago Nouveau at Sleepworks New York is a two-sided, 10½” sculpted-surface mattress made with a 6” core of firm 100%-natural rubber latex under a soft internal sculpted-surface layer and covered with our innovative new knit cushion quilting.

OMI’s latex mattresses are certified to the Global Organic Latex Standard. Peterson Control Union, a globally recognized organic certifier, developed GOLS based on their years of experience certifying organic products in other industries, including foods and textiles. This certification ensures that all latex materials, finished product, and manufacturing processes adhere to strict and specific global organic standards
Certified Organic
Control Union Certifications certifies to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) – dedicated specifically to fiber and textile handling and production. The aim of the Standard is to define requirements that ensure the organic status of textiles, from harvesting of the raw materials through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing all the way up to labeling, in order to provide credible organic assurance to the end consumer
GREENGUARD® Tested and Certified
OMI’s OrganicPedic® mattresses meet the stringent criteria of the GREENGUARD® Environmental Institute (GEI) for low VOC emissions, and are eligible for LEED credits. In 2006, a OMI mattress was the first to be certified by GREENGAUARD® for low Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) emissions based on strict purity standards. We even pass GREENGUARD®’s most stringent requirements, the Gold Certification Program, for products designed to be used for children and schools. We have continued to do so year after year with test values (BQL) below quantifiable levels.
American-Grown NOP-Certified Organic Cotton
Our USDA certified organic cotton batting is the highest-grade premium long-staple virgin cotton you can buy. It has been garnetted to our unique specifications and then sanitized using our exclusive non-chemical ozone process.

Natural Rubber Latex from Rubber Trees, Not Petroleum
Certified by Oeko-Tex to be free of harmful substances, the natural rubber in our mattress cores comes from sustainably harvested rubber-tree sap.
Flame Retardant
OrganicPedic® mattresses meet all federal and state, as well as Canadian, flammability requirements without the use of chemical fire retardants. Our mattresses were tested by the CPSC in May 2008 and again in 2014, and meet all flammability performance criteria under CPSC Statutes 1632 and 1633, as well as all new children’s regulations (16 CFR 1110, lot tracking, LEAD, and phthalates)
Our Eco-Factory™
In our organic-only manufacturing environment, cross-contamination from conventional products is never an issue. We simply have no harmful chemicals or synthetic raw materials on site. Our factory, located in Northern California, is truly unique – we developed the first and only large-scale Eco-Factory™ dedicated to all-organic manufacturing — in North America. Our Eco-Factory™ has its own ozone cleaning chamber that reduces naturally-occurring contaminants such as mold and mildew spores, yeasts, and bacteria that may have “hitchhiked” from the field or storage facility on raw materials. We believe there is no cleaner sewing facility in the mattress industry than our dedicated sewing room. Our Eco-Factory™ also provides a safe and healthful workplace for our employees.
